White spots on skin is frequently complaints of people( especially young adults and teens ),usually in the summer months. It not dangerous but hard to cure. It usually recurs for some years before the man comes for treatment, because it often tends to go away in the winter, and the man hopes it’s gone for good.
But in the summer after several days in the sun, they are coming back
The white spots in skin are caused by a yeast called tinea versicolor.
The tinea versicolor yeasts are always around us, and usually cause no problems. Some of us are more susceptible to the things that can convert tinea versicolor yeast into forms that cause the rash: heat, oily skin, birth control pills, humidity, pregnancy and corticosteroids.
Tinea versicolor yeasts are not contagious.
The yeast doesn’t directly cause the skin to become lighter. It just preserve the skin from tanning, so white spots appear.
In the winter months, the white spots may actually look tan or slightly red.
Methods of treatment:
The simplest method is to buy an inexpensive cream, such as Lotrimin or Tinactin.
They usually applied to the affected spots twice a day.
Some patients say that adding a 1%-hydrocortisone cream to the anti-fungal cream increase its effect. There are also more stronger cortisone creams, that are available by prescription.
If creams don’t work, there are more effective pills such as Nizoral, Diflucan and Sporanox, taken for a week or two.
You should build up a sweat by exercising two hours after taking them, and not wash or wipe the sweat off for 10 hours.
So, to prevent the rash and white spots in skin, many doctors recommend applying an antifungal cream or shampoo weekly or monthly to affected areas during the months leading up to summer. Weekly or monthly pills may also be necessary.
