Infection between the root and the bone?
I have a tooth that has had a root canal and a cap. I have an infection in the tooth between the bottem the tooth, not the roots and bone. My dentist said the infection was not in the tooth or the gum, but in a small separation between the base of tooth and bone. I've had two rounds of antibotics and dentest said I had already begun bone loss in this pocket. I would keep the tooth, and I understand that no I can take antibotics indefinatly. What I can do to get rid of this infection in addition to pulling the tooth? I gargle with warm salt water every day several times a day. I brush at least twice a day. I floss every day. I can use an antiseptic mouth wash several times a day. My dentist does not cut chewing gum to relieve the abscess because he thinks it would be better to pull the tooth. Back to my question. What I can do to cure the infection that does not involve taking antibotics and the tooth?
Nothing that has to get the tooth. It's over. The man, who should be in a lot of pain. They have had years ago. An infection also can kill.
