Is it safe for the treatment of tapeworms nursing a bitch, will it hurt the puppies?
I know it will be safe in the treatment of dog hookworms and roundworms, but I'm not entirely sure about tapeworms. The dog has tapeworms dad and if it does, then I'm sure mom does too. I will give tablets lonely Happy Jack, is it safe for the puppies? Should I treat them well? They are 2 weeks old.
Not I know nothing about that particular product, but any product as the active ingredient fenbendazole given three days to kill the tapeworm, and is safe for nursing mothers. Just read the active ingredients. Want to fenbendazole. Do not use praziquantel in a nursing mother unless your vet says he and monitors. Use a fenbendazole cycle of three days to kill tapeworms. Do not treat the puppies at this time. You can give pyrantel products for roundworms and hookworms in two weeks, but I think any product can be used tape worm in two weeks. Hopefully, the product is used fenbendazole pass through enough milk to kill any parasites the puppies are. Read labels and buy a product with fenbendazole. Then follow the directions on the package for dosage.
