What is a Blackhead?

Blackheads are technically known as open comedones. These bumps are often indented and may look small portions. The confusion over blackheads and whiteheads is about the fact that blackheads accompany oily skin, where the white spots may be present in fat or dry skin.

What causes pimples?

A black spot is caused by excess oil that has clogged a pore. This obstruction occurs when built oil can not flow to the surface of the skin due to a deformation or alteration of pores and dead skin cells blocking the road. When the pore is open, the oil is exposed to oxygen, which reacts and turns it into a color dark, resulting in a black head.

* Hormones are the leading cause of oil production. An increase in male hormones, androgens, increase the natural production of oil in your skin and cause more oil to accumulate in the pores, often resulting in the appearance of black heads.

* The black dot next big culprit in the formation is the use of products for skin care or makeup. These products are mixed with natural oils from your body and help accumulation that can block pores.

* Whitehead pimples and blackheads formation appears to be a predisposed condition that is aggravated or increased when combined with the above toxins.

2. Blackhead Prevention

There are many things you can do to prevent the appearance of black dots in face. Most involve cleansing and some require the use of drugs.

* Avoid using creamy, fat, and thick (emollient) products. This alone greatly reduce your chances of sprouting blackheads.

* Use a mild cleanser and water soluble.

* DO NOT use bar soap! Ingredients that keep the soap in bar form can clog the pores of your skin. They can also cause skin cells to detach prematurely and clog the pores. If you have Dry skin needs to use a cleaner that has a bit of moisturizer in it, but be careful! The excess moisturizers can cause an increase in the oil on your skin.

* Exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. If no skin cells clog the pores, the natural oil is able to flow freely. Exfoliation also remove dead skin cells built from the inside of the pores that cause it to deform and become blocked more easily. Using an exfoliant that contains 1% or 2% beta hydroxy acids (BHA or salicylic acid) can penetrate the wall of the pore. If you can not wear BHA could use products containing alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), however these acids are only good for surface exfoliation because they do not penetrate the wall of the pore.

* Absorb excess oil. If you have oily skin, try using a clay mask that does not contain mint, peppermint or other irritating ingredients. This will absorb the oil that may clog the poor. If you have dry skin, this is not necessary because pimples on dry skin are caused by oil within the pore, not on the surface of the skin. Also, the oil absorption of the documents can help reduce oil in its pores.

* Wash your dermatologist faceVisit. Retinoids, which are a form of vitamin A may help regulate the pore shape to keep the oil flowing normally. The most common retinoids are tretinoin and adapalene, found in prescriptions such as Avita, Renova, Retin-A, Tazorac and Differin.

* Other medications. Hormone blockers and low dose birth control pills can lower levels of androgens (male hormone) and Accutane should be discussed with your physician in severe cases of oily skin and breakouts.

Elimination of the "stuff" inside of the blackhead helps to the skin as they are relieving the pressure that causes the damage. We know it can be almost impossible to leave a single spot so here are some tips for removing soft black dots:

1. Use a soft scrub or exfoliant to remove dead cells and expose the blackhead.

4. Pat your face dry again.

5. Place a piece of tissue at the tip of each finger to avoid slipping, which could tear the skin and cause more damage.

6. Gently apply even pressure on both sides of the blackhead by pushing down, then up around the spot. You are trying to apply pressure * * Below the black head.

Just try it once or twice. If it does not "pop", this may bruise the skin, make the point black is worse, and may cause scarring.

PORE STRIPS: Using pore strips to remove blackheads is not recommended for many reasons:

* Warnings in the box tell you not to use them on swollen, irritated, sunburned skin, not for use on excessively dry skin and not to use them in any other area of the nose. In addition, warnings indicate that if the band is very difficult to remove, you must add water and stir gently.

* Removing the superficial blackheads, along healthy skin, will only help temporarily.

* Repeated use of pore strips can cause irritation and rashes in the future.

* Adhesive on the strips can tear or damage the skin, especially if you are using an acne medication such as those listed above, or if you naturally have thin skin, due to psoriasis, rosacea or seborrhea.

Vacuum blackhead removers and blackhead extractors are not recommended for the same reasons that the strips of pores.
