Who invented the lipstick?
Hello. Here lately I've been obsessed with buying lipstick, and thus arose a question to mind: who invented the lipstick? Furthermore, why was invented lipstick? Was it just for the purpose of beauty?
Lipstick was probably invented by the Egyptians, although it may have been used years earlier. You can see in some of the hieroglyphs that some of the color faces are detailed in the mouth area, while others are not. They took the plant material colored with cinnabar, a vegetable dye, iodine, and bromine. (Two of these ingredients were poisonous.) However, in 1949 the Hazel Bishop lipstick perfected we know and use today. Others say that Cleopatra invented the pencil lips.
