It was not long ago when we tried our first pair of long road trips with our children. I had everything prepared and organized, but did not take into account our children need more mental stimulation than just pleasant conversation, and watching the cornfields and wheat fields pass.
After look in the back seat for some children find boring, I decided that when we got home, I would put some real effort in research and testing travel games to make sure we had a much better experience of unity in our future travels. It was an educational experience to say the least.
Discover that by simply providing a variety of different games, toys, coloring projects, audio books on CD, and (as a last resort) DVD's of new movies that children had not seen, and we went running in the right direction for a travel experience entertaining and educational. As the saying goes, "It is reaching the final destination is important, but the journey to get there. "
Immediately I heard that some travel games was not worth the time and effort, for being too complicated, too many pieces, or simply not able to hold the attention of children. While other games were total successes, and many were very affordable. So travel round treasure our game and we went to our long road trip to try these new products and see if we have been able to have more entertainment, and less BORDOMER with our children.
Hour 1: Right off the bat, we found that magnetic toys were a huge success, and kept children entertained for greater ease than an hour at times. The games by Smethport Specialty Co. as Wooly Willy, which has existed for over 50 years and there is a reason, were not only affordable games, but compact, and provide a diversion for our children.
Hour 2: Then would to be colored. Crayola has a great trip for coloring kits with pages of entertainment, magic pens and celebrities who always seem to be a hit with our children, what we buy an hour of fun on the road.
3 hours: After cleaning the pens and paper, we leave the car bingo games and everyone joins in the fun – it gives us an easy 30-time Travel an hour.
4 hours: We, therefore, snacks, lunch depending on time of day.
5 hours: After an hour meal time, children can play with some toys that brought as finger puppets, dolls, dinosaurs, travel or other small toys that can use your imagination to play. This is more of a quiet and lasts for an hour easily.
Hour 6: After the pop in a book audio CD of American Tall Tales or Fairy Tales, or King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, etc. The tapes are about 30 minutes, and children often enjoy CD listening to a couple back to back – we get another hours.
Time 7 and 8: So we're about 6 hours of driving time. If we have more way to go, there is always the best for the last option to appear on the DVD for a good movie for two hours, giving you what you need for a unit of eight hours with children.
We traveled for 12 hours on a road trip before, but had a lot of 15-minute rest breaks to stretch your legs stop, throw a Frisbee with children, toileting or eating some food. It is not easy, and try to avoid the long road. Sometimes though when the destination is far away, and only both have vacation time, there is a lot of options. Let's say you still have to go four hours driving time.
9 hours: That's when you pulling a new travel game, one that has been hiding away and nobody knows – travel game that everyone can participate in and play together. We have discovered a handful really fun game travel fit this description, including "Family Time Fun games that are so easy to play, and excellent travel by car, or even while you are waiting for the food served in a restaurant with their children. This bought an hour of entertainment.
10 hours: three hours to get to travel the road, so take some snacks and new foods and eat and talk while listening to a music CD. There goes another hour. Now we are two hours left.
Time 11 and 12: Well, I do not usually do this, but two hours is the perfect window for one more film. Not like the abuse of the DVD player, but when traveling on a long journey, and even a long flight in an airplane, two films are shown. So we give up the second and final film of the days and the children quietly watch the movie as they pull up to our hotel.
Now, imagine having to drive 12 hours a day for 2 to 3 days or even five in a row. Well, that's gonna take a little more planning, and I'll be writing about it in my article next trip.
I hope this information will help other parents to travel easier with their children. Sometimes the journey is long, but need not be miserable. With the right elements and some advance planning, parents can take control of boredom long road trip, and turn even the longest drive in an entertaining and educational experience with children.
Happy Travels!
